                                       I Believe in being Weird

I believe in being weird. We all have that certain part of us that people would say is “weird”. For me there are many times that people have come up to me and say “You’re so weird.” Especially my parents say that I’m a strange child. I’m a person who thinks a lot for drawing, life, random thoughts, but mostly stories. When I’m thinking for a story that I’m working or or thinking of working on I listen to music and have the urge to move. I usually go outside and walk, but when it gets too dark I get trapped inside and end up pacing. When I do this my dad always just ends up taking me by the  shoulders and tells me to sit down; saying that I’m making him nervous. I tell him that moving helps me think and every time this happens he sits back on the couch and says “strange child.” With a smile I ask “and who do you think I get it from?” He then points to my mom and make makes up a strange thing. My mom has a saying that I would  be hard to forget.
In everyone there is a part of them that people find weird or strange. But people find everything about me weird. There are a lot of people that look at me and judge me by my “cover”. For example I tell people I love to ski, yet I also love to do ballet. People will see that I like to listen to classical music, but I love to listen to all music. People will see me as a tomboy, yet I love to wear dresses. People will see that I’m not a big fan of war movies, especially the ones that are bloody and gory, yet I love horror movies.
I have sayings that are weird, but could have a deeper meanings. Like; if you can dance, you can fight; if you can talk, you can sing; if you cry, you are brave; if you can breath air, you can live through life.
For me, I’ve never felt being told that you’re weird as a bad thing. I never thought that I should hide what makes me weird. When someone tells me that I’m weird I take it as the highest of compliments. I have never been told that I was normal and never have I wanted to be normal. In fact if I were to ever be told that I was normal I would take it as an insult.
Being weird helps you open mind your to the world. By being weird you open up and show the world who you really are and by doing this you make new discoveries about yourself each day. You can learn about different cultures, learn about problems, meet different people, share ideas and create different worlds. You can come up with weird, or crazy idea that may sound crazy to be able to change the world, but yet to may be weird and crazy enough to actually work.
If there is something you love doing that someone says is weird, don’t let it get to you. Whatever it is that people think is weird is what makes you unlike them. It is what makes you not like any other. It makes you, you! I will never be ashamed of being called weird. I will always show a proud smile, with my head held high; I will show the world that I’m happy to be weird. This, I believe in being weird.

This was a short essay that I had to do for my English class. I am really happy to do this and I was very excited to do this.  I was really able to get into dept of what being weird was to me. I hope that anyone else that reads this will get the same understanding that I do.  Also I really encourage you guys to give it a try. It's really fun to do and you can really take anything you want and give it a deeper meaning.

I agree with this "normal" is overrated and actually doesn't have a proper definition like most words do. I've asked countless people to tell me the definition of normal yet no one could
